SEO in Ripon
Posted by David WhitehouseToday I managed to get My first commercial SEO related number one ranking – SEO Ripon.
I wasn’t even aiming for it, but I seem to have managed it, quite pleased to be honest! I’m also ranking #1 for SEO specialist North Yorkshire, but lets face it – both of the terms are very, very long tail. I’m hoping to get onto page one or two for SEO Specialist (currently ranking on page 7 – eek!) – I’m currently #3 on page 1 for this term
Anyways if you are in Ripon, feel free to contact me
SEO Specialist – my new target term
Posted by David WhitehouseWell I’ve got bored trying to rank #1 for David Whitehouse – so whilst I’m getting on with that I’m going to play around trying to rank for a commercial term: seo specialist.
Dave currently ranks number 1 for UK SEO, and Ant is trying to rank for that one too, so I thought I’d target something else, since that base is pretty much covered (plus I reckon this one is going to be easier).
We’ll see how I do
Wolfram Alpha Will Help You With Your Poker
Posted by David WhitehouseSo I subscribed to the Wolfram Alpha Blog a few weeks ago, I’ve not really understood how useful it will be. It seems to be great if your doing a degree in maths, other than that I was struggling to see the benefits of using it.
Until now.
You can type in poker hands and it will come back with the odds of having that hand! I’m quite impressed!
So I am a little bit more excited about using Wolfram Alpha now? Although I think they have already made some glaring errors:
- The name is crap – its named after the founder
- The domain name is way too long for a search engine you will be typing the address of a lot
- They are not selling the benefits at all
I think Wolfram Alpha’s release date is tomorrow – I think I will know within a few minutes of using it whether it is going to be a flop or not (I already suspect it probably will be)
Update – It will be a flop, at least you won’t get a single SEO specialist bothering to SEO for it – so it hopefully it won’t be full of spam.
Using Twitter to keep up to speed
Posted by David WhitehouseTwitter is amazingly fast when it comes to reporting major World events, examples include the Mumbai terrorist attack and when Lance Armstrong fell of his bike and broke his collar bone. Both examples resulted in the larger part of the Twitter community finding out before the media could report on it – it really is revolutionary.
If you want to keep an eye on what is happening on Twitter now, then I suggest you check out Twitscoop.
Twitscoop allows you to view all of the most popular keyphrases on Twitter in real time, so if something big happens you will know before the media can report about it. And because people can update Twitter from their mobiles it means you have a major insight into people’s minds all over the World!
Check it out, its amazing!
For an SEO specialist, such as myself – Twitter opens a whole new World for keeping up-to-date with fast moving trends so they can be taken advantage of immediately – I imagine it is the same for journalists.
